  • Move your Christmas tree outside after the holidays to give birds extra protection in the winter months (decorate with pinecones covered in peanut butter for an extra treat)
  • Make sure bird feeders are filled, winter is the most important time to feed our wilderness friends

  • Empty and flip over bird bath tops to prevent cracking (bird bath heaters are a great way to help wild birds get water in the colder months)

  • Use salt substitutes such as sand and kitty litter to avoid toxins running into garden beds and lawn grass
  • Stock up on firewood for unexpected harsh winter conditions

  • Gently remove any snow from shrubs to prevent the branches from breaking
  • Check stored plant bulbs for signs of rot

  • Gently wash house plant leaves with soap and water to remove any built up dust and debris
  • Start planning summer garden design and make a checklist for items needed
